In Concert.........

Thursday February 19th David Byrne formally of the Talking Heads in concert at the Fox theater in Spokane, WA. Great concert the man really knows how to put on a "performance".Interesting history at the Fox theater....
The Fox Theater in Spokane Washington is a 1931 art deco movie theater that was recently almost torn down and turned into a parking lot. An extensive fund raising campaign began to help raise money to restore the theater. The renovations were complete at a cost of over $31 million and in November 2007 was reopened and renamed the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox after a donor's father who donated $3 million towards the renovations. It was designed by architect Robert C. Reamer, notable for his design of the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. Notable performances at the theatre include: Katherine Hepburn, in As You Like It, as well as Marian Anderson, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra. First Lady Michelle Obama, held a rally for Barack during his presidential campaign bid for President. Also,Tony Bennett sang during the Grand Opening on November 19, 2007.

Christmas Day in California
We arrived in Burbank, CA. on Christmas Day around 12:30. Rented a car and drove directly to The Staples Center in Los Angeles. We knew the Lakers were playing the Boston Celtics who were on a roll winning 19 games in a row. We did not have tickets and the game was completely sold out. Scalping tickets in California is illegal. Were we going to break the law and scalp tickets? Well yeah. We tried to look incognito about it. As we looked around we kinda noticed that we were the only 2 white people around for probably miles, and so we basically stuck out in the crowd...so to speak. I guess it looked like we were looking for tickets, so we ended up walking with a few African American men, kinda like a nice Sunday stroll catching up on old times.....Yeah OK. So yes the typical story of scalping tickets paying $120.00 a piece for $10.00 a piece tickets. SUCKERS!Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Something must be going on.....
Matt and Jen were driving through Atenas a small town in Central Costa Rica. We noticed a large crowd gathered on the local bridge on the highway. Jen thought they were just taking pictures of the beautiful view. Matt figured it was something much more than that. With MUCH instance from Matt, Jen gets out of the car and looks down over the bridge and first sees this view.........

Nothing much going on here "just as I figured" Jen thought to herself until she took a look to her right. Standing there speechless (takes allot to make that happen) Jen could not believe what she was looking at.....
